i suppose i should blog in august...

so i will, briefly.

august has flown. here are some things that have occupied our time.

1. Minnesota

Minnesota was fantastic, as per usual. We spent 9 wonderful days with family, loons and Lake Minnewaska. Highlights: Mike (painfully) learned to slolam ski. Lucia loved (finally) spending time with her aunt and uncle. Jonas (Rock's new flame) came for a Rambow family meet and greet and was humerous and fun. We spent time with Mike's family, including his Grandma Ellen who is miraculously turning 90 despite looking like a spry 71 year old. We attended my Grandma Dee's 80th birthday and spent some quality time with my extended Rambow family. We relaxed on the lake and fantasized about owning a lake home.

2. Softball

The Mill Race Cyclery Softball team was a ragtag bunch who can count drinking beer as their finest accomplishment. It is painful, but always entertaining for this coach's kid to watch these air traffic controllers try to play ball. Thankfully the season is over. Mike only owes 38 dollars in error fees to the final party.

3. Running/Ironman countdown

I have improved my running once again. I am not quite to the level of fitness I was a few years ago, but I am on my way. Mike is in the final stages of his Ironman training and is getting very excited/nervous. To be fair, I am probably more nervous than he is. As of today, we are 21 days away from Mike becoming an Ironman. Positive thoughts sent into the universe would be much apprieciated!

In closing, listen to this song. It is sure to brighten your day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoaTl7IcFs8&feature=related
