In Definance of Turning 30

This morning I woke up, took a shower, preformed the necessary primping, put on my favorite blue dress, nylons and heels and went to work. Like an adult.

Later this same day, my entire lunch consisted of a mini bag of Doritos.

So this is happening...

Mil-le-wau-k, Algonquin for the good land indeed.

Who's coming with me?

So I'm a hypocrite, what of it?

Is it completely irrational that I get upset when I visit all of the blogs I stalk and none of them have new posts for me when I haven't posted since December 8th? Maybe. Do I care? Eh, not really.

Seeing as this is my first post of 2012, Happy New Year, friends.

cheers,

Simple Joy

You know what I love? Words that you can type with only one hand. I know, I know, that sounds simple and mundane, but it makes me happy when I come across them. Words like "stresses," which normally would be a word I would hate due to it's meaning and general existence in my life. But typing it, typing it is pure joy. Only my left hand has to work. My right hand just hangs out and sips a dirty martini while my left hand basks in the accomplishment of doing something all on her own.  It may only last for 5 seconds, but it's 5 seconds of heaven, people.

I wish I could relay more one handed typing words to you at this point because it would flesh out my point as well as make me appear to remember things that make me happy, but alas, my early onset Alzheimer's has flared up once again. If you happen to come across some of these glorious words, do send them my way. I always need a 30 second one-handed typing break to bring a little joy to my day.

Wishing you a simple joy for your Thursday.

Cheers,
c.

Come Fly With Me

In 12 hours I will be on a flight bound for sunny Mexico (providing it doesn't rain. Mike "Sungaard" Headrick has determined that rain will most certainly be a part of our trip and is quite concerned. I on the other hand, couldn't be less concerned. As far as I know, they serve margaritas rain or shine).

I am beyond jazzed for this vacation.  Work has been extrordinarily stressful lately (perhaps because I've been preparing for a week off? Who's to say?), so I am in need of an all-you-can-eat-and-drink week of fun in the sun - leave my mind behind, you might say.  Mike, in optimistic anticipation, has taken to naming our traveling team (comprised of my sister, her husband and two of us) Team Sandtoxication.  Here's hoping we live up to our name.  Hope all of you, my internet friends, have a fantastic week.  I would like to say I'll miss you this week, but no one likes a liar.

Cheers,

The exotic lady

That's right, I'm on day 4 of my new perfume and it is STILL making me feel like a brand new woman. I call life changing, suck it, Mike. (Jum, I don't know how my hair smells, but I did wash it today, just for you).

Happy Friday friends.
